Sail Away

Uncharted Territory is a beautiful stamp set. I purchased this set to use in my scrapbook for when we went to Michigan last year. It worked great for those pictures.

I always have requests for more men cards. I have to say it is not always easy to design cards for men. I usually struggle with this, but this is what I came up with this time.

I originally wanted this card to just be black and white, but I wasn't liking it, so I added some Always Artichoke. I think the green really helps it pop.

The roughed up edges and torn edges give it a rustic look rather than clean lines. For some reason I end up doing this with most of my guy cards. It is an easy way to add another element without using brads or ribbons that guys don't really seem to care about!

What is your favorite guy set in the catalog?

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Gray Valentine's Day

Here is another card we did at Make and Take I again gave them an option of which stamp set they wanted to use. I used the Greeting Card Kids set and Be My Valentine.

I thought that the little girl one could easily be used for a birthday card or even a thank you instead of just Valentine's Day.

The DSP used on this card is called Love Impressions and is in the current mini.

I took the sideways picture so you could see how I folded this card and how it opens. It is very simple, but I turned it a different way instead of having it go up and down this time. It is fun to take old folds and use them in different ways.

I loved using Basic Gray for this card because it really let the red pop, but also brought out the gray in the DSP.

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

1 John 4:20-21 "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister."

Embossing Folder

Let's just continue on the Big Shot path. This is one of our beautiful embossing folders called Manhattan Flower. This flower is gorgeous either going into the page or coming off the page. It is your preference in which way you put it on the paper.

For this card I used colors that are not normally associated with Sympathy cards, but when someone is mourning it would be nice to see cheery colors. I used Whisper White and Rose Red for this card. The Sympathy set called Thanks for Caring from the mini is just gorgeous!
I know I have told you how much I love this set, but I just can't stop using it. I like that the set can be used for more than just Sympathy cards or it can make beautiful Sympathy cards.

This is the card that we did at my Make and Take this month. I gave the ladies an option of which card they want to make. I cut the paper the same way and then they could decide how they wanted to stamp it. Options and variety are always good. I also love to see what people come up with and how they change the card just using the supplies I give them! Creativity is the best. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Embosslit Flower

Have I told you how much I love my Big Shot? I was a hard sell, too! When it first came out I didn't think that I needed one, but it was all I could talk about. Justin finally said, "Just order one!" He is so supportive. :)

Ever since I got my hands on my Big Shot I can't stop using it. For this card I used the embosslit flower. This card is so simple, but with the flower and the brad in the middle of the flower it just makes it.

I used Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Green House Gala DSP, scallop edge punch, and Teeny Tiny Wish Stamp Set.

The other great thing about these little dies is that they are very affordable. You can use just one or put several on a card or scrapbook page. They are also wonderful for 3-D objects.

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

he brought me into a spacious place.
The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?"

Build-A-Bear Boy

I have been so focused on girl colors that it was fun and refreshing to make some boy cards. My cousin is having a baby boy in March so her shower is coming up. I decided to make some cute cards to give her that she can use as thank yous. What mom doesn't need a million thank you cards?!

For this card I used Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. I also used the adorable Build-A-Bear stamp set. It was fun to color the clothes to match the paper. I also ran the background piece through the Big Shot to emboss the dots on it. I loved the bright colored brads that I also added to the top of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this card. Don't forget how wonderful homemade cards make as gifts. I know I made a lot of holiday gifts this year! It is so much fun to make them and then to see how much people love them. :)

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Galatians 3:26-28 "So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Planning Ahead

Those of you that know me well know that I love to plan ahead!!! I thought I would share some of my planning with you. I have had some great requests for upcoming Make and Takes. I want to take advantage of your wonderful ideas and get them on the calendar.

During February I will be having two Make and Takes.
Feb. 17th will be my regular Make and Take at my house with the normal prices. This Make and Take will have a food theme. We will make six cards (3 designs) and 4 recipe cards! How fun! (6:30-8:30)
Feb. 26th will be a special Make and Take at Warren County Public Library. We will be using the Knitter's stamp set called Hand Knit to make 5 small tags, 5 large tags, and 4 cards! (10:00-12:00)
(You can sign up for the February classes at any time!)

March 31st will bring about a great gift idea. The File Folder gift. We will be folding, cutting, and glueing to make a great gift. This gift of a file folder (decorated of course) will hold some cards, envelopes, a list, and bookmarks.

April is up in the air at this point. With conflicts and Easter going on I may have to skip this one....we will see closer to the time.

May 19th is time to start thinking about Graduation and Wedding gifts. What better gift than a set of coasters! We have made them before, but they are so much fun to make. I love giving them as wedding gifts.

Through these Make and Takes I am trying to help you get a jump start on gift giving ideas and just do something different than cards!

Do you have any ideas or requests for future classes? Let me know and we will see what we can work out!

Mark your calendars for these dates if you are interested in any of these classes. :)

Brown Tree

Here it is....I was talking about the Woodland Walk DSP pack having paper that looked like wood. As you can see I utilized it here with the beautiful tree.

This card used the same technique with tearing and then using the scrap as the bottom layer. It just gives it depth and does not waste anything that way.

This tree is from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. This is almost a must have stamp set. It is a nice go to set that can be used for many occasions, male or female.

I also used a 5/16 Jumbo Brad. Those brads are nice because they are larger than the regular brads, but not too big to mail.

If I have not convinced you that our DSP is wonderful by now....I am not sure what it is going to take. Go ahead and check it out. Which DSP pack is your favorite?

Happy DSP Dreaming! Britni :)

Micah 6:8 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God. "

Tope Note Treeline

More DSP!? Yes, of course because I can not get enough of it! For this card I used Woodland Walk. You have to check this one out because some of the pieces actually look like wood!

This card was inspired by the Top Note. I folded a piece of paper in half so that I could run it through the Big Shot but keep the Top Note in tact as two pieces. I then used Lovely as a Tree (a classic stamp set!) and embossed the trees on the front of the card using gold embossing powder!

You can then see that I did some layering with Chocolate Chip and the Woodland Walk DSP. I kept the inside of the card empty so that it could be used for any occasion.

Thank you so much for taking time to look at my blog! Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Isaiah 1:16-17 "Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong.
Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow. "

DSP Crazy!

After I ordered this paper and then received it from the wonderful UPS man I could not stop myself from using it. This paper is part of the Greenhouse Gala DSP pack.

I was so excited to be able to use Baja Breeze as the base and then all I did was cut some strips, a then do some tearing. The piece that I tore off then became the bottom layer. I love it when there is nothing left to throw away because it was used on the card. I then used my Scallop Oval punch to punch out the words from Perfect Punches stamp set.

I think these made elegant yet simple birthday cards!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Never underestimate what DSP can do. I seem to forget at times until I get it out and then I realize that a card does not need much when you use beautiful paper!

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

All You Need is Love....

I just had to share this project. I had a blast putting this together!

This project was inspired by another blog. She gifted frames that had been decorated and then left blank so that the recipient could add the picture of their choice. I just may have to use that idea for gifts this year!

I started with the Love Impressions DSP from the Mini catalog. All you need is love is perfect for this size of frame and there was still room for a picture! I also added a few strips of some of the other designs along with ribbon to top it off! The great thing is that if I wanted I could change out the picture at any time and keep it current or treasure this precious photo forever!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope to think of new and exciting gift ideas for 2011. I am always up for making homemade gifts and I really want to start making things ahead of time and have them on hand when I need them. What gift ideas do you have for 2011?!

Happy Gift Making! Britni :)

Ephesians 5:1-2 "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

Occasions Mini: Sympathy Set

Here is another new item that is from the mini.

I saw this set in the mini and decided I needed a good Sympathy set in my collection. Wow! Once I started using it I could not believe the details.

This set is called Thanks for Caring and it is a set of six. I almost used all six on this one card because I just couldn't get enough of it.

Check out the butterfly...isn't it gorgeous!? I also really love the little stamp that says with love and caring. You could stamp that on any or all of your cards. How nice!

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

John 14:1-3 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

Valentine's Day and Rub Ons!

It's a new year so it is time for new products!!! I love this card because it is full of new mini products.

This card contains the beautiful DSP called Love Impressions, the under $10 stamp Be My Valentine, and the Love Impressions Rub Ons.

I have to rave about these rub ons. I had not used our rub ons since they changed them and made them in color. I had not been completely happy with what they used to be. Stampin' Up is such a fun and great company that they sent all the demonstrators a sheet of these beautiful rub ons. I just have to say that I am in love! They are easier to apply, the paper they are on is so much better and does not stick to everything. Once the rub on is on the paper you touch it and it feels like it is part of the paper. If you have not tried to the rub ons for awhile then I highly suggest you do!

Thank you so much for listening to all my excitement about the rub-ons.

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Praise the LORD, my soul,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Another year has gone by, can you honestly believe it? There are times that I think I won't have enough to write for there days on my blog and then I realize that I just went another year!

What were some of your favorite projects from 2010? Do you have any big plans for 2011?

I am searching for some new and exciting inspirations. I am always inspired by the blogs that I check out and I recently saw some very cool notebook/calendars put inside our Clear Mount stamp cases. I may have to try this. I just saw today some of our Chunky frames from the Decor Elements catalog decorated with buttons and DSP. Those turned out nicely. I am always looking for fun gifts and why not make some ahead instead of making them at the last minute!

Thank you so much for stopping by this past year! I hope you have enjoyed my blog in the past and I hope you continue to. Don't ever be afraid to leave a message. You can let me know what you like or what you would like to see more of!

I hope to see you at an event in 2011 so that we can be inspired by one another! :)

Happy 2011
