Happy Halloween!

Isn't this adorable?! I took a picture of this sample last weekend at our StampAttics meeting. I am telling you, we got a lot of really great ideas that day. This was actually made by my upline, Georgia.

She used the Penant Die with the Big Shot (Stampin' Up's Die Cutting machine) to make the base of the project, and the three colors to make it look like candy corn. She also used the Serif Essentials alphabet with the Big Shot. You can't see it but she also attached it to a stick so that it could actaully be used for a penant to wave around.

What I love about this project is that you can change the colors and the words and make it for many different occasions. Use your imagination!

Are you interested or curious about the Big Shot? If so, please let me know. We can talk or set up a time when you can come try mine out. You may just have to have one! It is a lot of fun and it adds a lot to your cards and it also provides many new, easy, and fast ways to make 3-D projects. At first I thought that I didn't really have a use for one, so if you are at all inerested please let me know and you can give mine a try!

Have a wonderful Friday! Happy Stamping, Britni :)

MEOW!

Hello! Well, tomorrow is Halloween, so I thought I could share one more Halloween card with you in case you haven't made your Halloween cards for the goblins in your life.

This was a card that I made for all my Card Club ladies after our October Card Club. I used some of our Ghostly Greetings Designer Series Paper. I stamped the bats onto the paper for extra depth. I used the Halloween Frights set from the Holiday Mini catalog. I just love this cat! I also love that I could use this cat for other occasions other than just Halloween. I used some ribbon along the side to make the card a little more feminine and a little less scary! Also, remember when you are using a dark cardstock for your base you will want to put a lighter color on the inside so that you can write your message inside. I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock on the inside.

Another tip....also remember that whatever card you see on my blog, if you like the design or the way the card looks but not the stamp set and paper, you can always modify it by changing the stamp set but using the same lay out for the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you here again soon!

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Celebrate!

Welcome to my blog today. I thought that I would get away from the holidays today and give you a different card.

This is a very basic card since the paper is all cut in squares. I used Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, and Kiwi Kiss (all in-colors). The stamp set I used was Pun Fun and I stamped the hippo in Pacific Point. I then let it dry before using the Aqua Painter on the hippo with Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. The Aqua Painter is full of water. You squeeze your stamp pad so that you have ink on the back of your case when you open it. Then take your painter and pick up some ink and color or paint in your image. It gives it the look that you really water colored it on there. I also used Sweet Stars on the Baja Breeze for the background.

This would be a great Congratulations for a new baby or even a young child's birthday.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today. Please come back again!

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Gobble! Gobble!

Start thinking about Thanksgiving!
This turkey is very cute! This turkey would be great for place cards at your Thanksgiving dinner or on a card like it is here.

This sample is from my StampAttics meeting (group of demonstrators getting together and exchanging great ideas). I am not sure who made this card because it was part of a large display of all of our samples.

For the feathers she used the Scallop Circle punch and the Autumn Vine Designer Series Paper.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow and see what creative idea I have for you. Now it is your turn to go make something creative. Have fun!

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Christmas Treats

Aren't these cute treat holders? I saw this wonderful idea on my upline, Georgia's blog. I knew I had to make some. I made some of these for the ladies that came to my house on Saturday to make 20 Christmas Cards. I thought they deserved a treat for all their hard work!

I used the Real Red paper from my prints pack (hostess Level One) which are already 6 X 6, so there was no cutting involved. I used sticky strip to make sure it would stay together and my paper crimper. If you are interested in making these check out this technique on SCS. These are quick and easy to make for any occasion. Just change the paper according to what you want. These would make great birthday treats at school or even favors at any party! Think creatively and make it your own.

I am glad that you stopped by my blog today! Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Who is the winner?

Congratulations Julia! You were the winner of my blog contest! I hope you can be a part of the contest next time. All you have to do is leave a comment for me on the day I ask you to. Keep checking for the next contest.

Well, are you asking yourself...What did she win? She won a gift bag and a card to match! It is time to start thinking about Christmas - the cards, the gifts, and wrapping. I used a small gift bag and put a little paper at the top from the Ski Slope Designer Series Paper (Holiday Mini Catalog). I also used my scallop edge punch to punch the top edge of the paper (cute!). I used a snowflake from Winter Post (Holiday Mini Catalog) and stamped it in Baja Breeze. I also stamped a small greeting from Snow Swirled in Real Red. When I was done I thought that it needed a little more, so I added the Real Red Ribbon in a cute little bow on the handle.

For the card I used the same two stamp sets to coordinate with the gift bag. (I saw this card at my StampAttics meeting last weekend and it inspired the bag.) The base of my card is Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze. I then used Old Olive because it coordinated with the paper. I used the 1-3/8 and 1-1/4 Circle punches. This is a cute, easy, and quick card to make.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog today! If I can help inspire you in any way please let me know.

Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Christmas Cards...

Hello Stampers! I thought that I better share a Christmas card with you today. I will be spending my day with some fellow stampers making 20 Christmas Cards today. Hopefully I will even get a few made myself.

This card was a sample from my StampAttics meeting last Saturday. There are so many samples and eventually I will share most of them with you.

This card was made by Julie, she is the one that formed our group and she runs the meetings when we have them. This card also won first place when we voted on the Christmas Card swaps. It incorporates a couple stamp sets. She used the Winter Post and Christ is Born. Sometimes I think stamp sets are so beautiful on their own, but seeing two wonderful sets put together makes them even more beautiful. This is something that I need to challenge myself to do more. She also used the Felt Flurries and Ribbon Originals from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Stamping, Britni :)

Bookmark Square

Do you love to read? Do you need something to mark your favorite stamp set in your Stampin' Up catalog? I have just what you need.

I saw this idea online and modified it to work with the supplies I already had. I used a 4x4 piece of Chocolate chip Designer Series Paper. I folded two sides down like an airplane. I then added a piece of ribbon that I folded in two to cover up where I folded the pieces together. I stamped Happiness Always (Level Three hostess set) in Chocolate Chip and placed it on Not Quite Navy to give it another pop of color.

I had so much fun making these that I kept making them and made several of them. This is an easy assembly line project to make several at one time. They are also very easy and you really feel like you made something really great.

As I am typing this, I'm starting to think...I need to make some more of those. These would be a great gift to have on hand or to make quickly to place in a card for a friend.

Thank you so much for reading my blog today. I hope you are enjoying it!

Happy Stamping, Britni :)

Simple Birthday Thanks (pg 65) - $14.36

The samples I have today are from a card swap that I did with my upline, Georgia and her upline, Kathy. We all made some birthday cards to get ready for Stampin' Up's birthday party!

The first sample was made by Georgia. She used the Party Hearty Set. For the colors she used Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, and Barely Banana. I love how she put the scallop circle around the cupcake and really made it pop. She also enhanced the scallop by using the Scallop Edge Punch on the Certainly Celery. Great job, Georgia!

My second sample today was made by Kathy. She used the stamp set Crazy For Cupcakes. I love this set and I was really excited to get another idea to use with this set. Kathy used a strip of paper from the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. She used Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White paper. She used some of the new beautiful Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon. (If you are coming to my Christmas Card Make and Take, you will get to try this wonderful ribbon.) Thanks for sharing, Kathy!

It is always fun to get together with other demonstrators and even more fun when you get to swap cards with one another. This is just one way that we get some of our really great ideas.

Happy Fall

I have another really great Fall/Thanksgiving card today! I saw a similar card and put my personal touches on it.

This card uses Really Rust for the background which coordinates with the Autumn Vine Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I then used More Mustard behind my stamped image. The stamp is part of the Happy Blessings stamp set that is also in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I colored the image in using our colored pencils and blending it with our Blender Pens. I love using the Twine on fall cards and I used the Natural Twine on this one.

If you have any other questions about this card or any other card that I have had on my blog, feel free to ask. Leave me a message or contact me.

Thanks for checking out my project idea today!

Happy Stamping, Britni :)

Harvest Time

Hello Stampers! I feel like I have really been focusing on Halloween a lot. I know that it is next week so I thought we better start thinking about our next holiday, Thanksgiving!

Today's sample was a card I made one day just for fun. I showed it to Justin and he actually had a comment. Usually he says uhh, that is nice. Well, with this card he said, "I really like that!" I always get excited when he says that or shows some interest in my crafts.

This card uses the Harvest Home stamp set in our regular catalog. I used our colored pencils to color in the image and then went over it with my blender pens to give it a more uniform and smooth look. I then held my stamp pad and rubbed it against the sides of the whisper white. I added some Really Rust Card Stock behind it. I also used some Always Artichoke Designer Series Paper from my Prints Pack (hostess level one). I placed it all on More Mustard Card Stock and used my VersaMark to place the vine along the edge. When I was finished I decided that it needed something else so I added a little Red and Natural Twine.

Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to come again tomorrow!

Happy Stamping, Britni :)

Pillow Box

Hello Stampers! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. It was such a beautiful one, I love fall - the colors, leaves falling, and those cooler temperatures that force you to bundle up and get out those sweaters.

Well, onto the stamping! I got to enjoy a morning of stamping and learning about Stampin' Up with some fellow demonstrators at our StampAttics meeting on Saturday. We had a lot of fun and I went away inspired and ready to teach you all some new ideas.

The samples I am sharing with you today are all examples of the pillow box. These were samples from my meeting. The pillow box is a die that you can use with the Big Shot. The Big Shot is a die cutting machine that Stampin' Up offers. We offer some exclusive dies that you can only get from Stampin' Up and we also offer some of the Sizzix dies.

This small pink pillow box is adorable! It was made to look like a small purse. The brad is one of our new Designer Filigree Brads. The Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon really makes it complete!

The second pillow box uses some beautiful Desginer Series Paper. This paper is part of the Ski Slope Designer Series Paper that can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog. It also features a felt flurry snowflake that is also in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

The third example also features the Ski Slope Designer Series paper wrapped around the pillow box. We also got to make one of these to take home! It is great being a demonstrator and learning from fellow demonstrators!

This pillow box is perfect to use to give candy or another small item to family and friends. My upline, Georgia, thought that she could place jewelry in the pillow box to give at Christmas time. (Great idea Georgia!)

Alright ladies...I am giving you a chance to win a small Christmas gift bag and card to match. All you have to do is leave a comment here on my blog on this day by 9:00 p.m on Wednesday. I will then place the names in a basket and draw a name!

I hope you enjoyed the samples of the pillow boxes. Remember you can make your own when you buy the pillow box die for the Big Shot! If you are interested in this die or any other Stampin' Up products, check out my website to order online or contact me today!

As always, Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Happy Birthday Stampin' Up!

Hello Stampers! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

This month we are celebrating Stampin' Up's 20th Birthday!!! That is very exciting and it is very good for you. There are several stamp sets 20% off when you spend $20 on regular catalog merchandise.
These stamp sets are part of this great birthday celebration and I have included the sale price!
Big Bold Birthday (pg 62) - $22.36
Party Hearty (pg 63) - $21.56
Bitty Birthday (pg 64) - $10.36
Crazy For Cupcakes (pg 64) - $19.16
Simple Birthday Thanks (pg 65) - $14.36
Time to Party (pg 65) - $13.56
Crab and Company (pg 68) - $22.36

My first sample is using Crazy For Cupcakes. I just got this set and I love it. I got it Tuesday and wasn't able to make a card with it until Friday night! I also brought out my new color family that I recently purchased , Rich Regals.

This sample uses Rose Red for the background, Chocolate Chip Designer Series Paper, So Saffron to go around the cupcakes, and I have accented with a Night of Navy ribbon. I used SU's new Scallop Edge punch on the Chocolate Chip and SU's ticket corner on the So Saffron and Whisper White.

My second sample also uses Crazy For Cupcakes. I still used Rose Red, but I stamped the small cupcake from Bitty Basics which is a hostess level one set. I used a small strip of the Chocolate Chip Designer Series Paper and So Saffron. I also used the corner rounder punch on two edges of the So Saffron and Whisper White.

Remember that you can order any of these stamps on my Stampin' Up website. Online ordering is now available at any time. If you are interested, would like to see more creative ideas, or other promotions check out my SU website at http://www.britsloveofstamping.stampinup.net

Halloween Treats!

Are you thinking about Halloween treats? It is about that time when those trick-or-treaters will be knocking at your door. Have a quick, easy, and cute treat to give them this year. This sample was easily made using the Scallop Circle Die for the Big Shot. I cut a piece of my Ghostly Greetings Designer Series Paper to fit my Scallop Circle Die and ran it through my Big Shot. I then folded my circle in half, punched two holes in the paper and the plastic bag, and then I tied a ribbon through the holes. I thought this would make it easy to get to the candy.

These would also be great for other occasions. I know schools are asking for store bought treats. Well, instead of just pulling something out of a box, make it special for your child and the students in their class. You could also use these for goody bags at a birthday party by just changing the contents depending on the age. These would also make great gift bags or stocking stuffers for those small items. The ideas are endless....just get those creative juices flowing and you will find a use for these great bags!

Have a wonderful day and I hope you have a chance to sit back, relax, and STAMP!

Just For You

When I first saw this stamp set I knew I had to have it. I am a huge fan of monkeys and especially the sock monkey. I am actually in the process of making one by hand. I can't wait to get it finished!

My sample for you today is using the Sock Monkey stamp set. I usually like to color the monkey using different shades of browns, but I had a lot of fun making this one very different. I colored the monkey using Tempting Turquoise and Real Red. I colored his hat with Brilliant Blue to match the background. I also used dimensionals on the monkey and hat to make them both pop! I pulled out a sheet of Designer Paper in Real Red from my prints pack (Level One Hostess) and turned the corner up for a different look. After I did that I saw the perfect spot for the Just For You stamp. This card would be great for a birthday or if you changed the hat to a different stamp in the set it could be used for many other occasions.

Have a great stamping day! Come back again tomorrow for more great ideas! Britni :)

BOO! Did I scare you?

Hello again! This is a very exciting post for me because I had a lot of fun making this project. I saw this project in one of the many places that I get my ideas, but when I went back to find where I saw it I could not find it. So, the original idea was not mine, but I did design this one all on my own!

My Boo sign is made using coasters! Coasters are thicker like chipboard so they are great for many projects. I then used Modge Podge to glue on the Ghostly Greetings Designer Series Paper (DSP). (I rounded the corners of the paper before I glued them on using my corner rounder punch.) I used my Serif Essentials Alphabet and cut out the letters using the same DSP on my Big Shot! I placed the letters on the coasters and realized that it needed more. I then decided to use the bat, owl, and cat found in the Halloween Frights set (Holiday Mini Catalog). I then glued the letters and the images on using Modge Podge. The last step was to punch holes in the coasters using the Crop-A-Dile and then using the same tool to set the Jumbo Eyelets. I used Black Twine to connect the coasters and give them something to hang from. I like this so much that I can't decide if I should leave it at home or take it to school. I know the kids would really like this!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and check on my blog. I really hope you are enjoying my posts!

Happy Stamping!

Fall Tree

Hello Stampers! I hope you have been enjoying
my posts, I have really been enjoying getting them ready for you to look at!

I have two samples for you today. They both use the stamp set Season of Friendship (Holiday Mini Catalog) and the Autumn Vine Designer Series Paper (Holiday Mini Catalog) that coordinates beautifully with this stamp set. The first card I stamped the entire tree and gave it a few leaves. I also used Really Rust and Creamy Caramel as accent colors.

For my second sample I only stamped part of a branch. I colored directly onto the stamp with my marker so that I could stamp just that part. I then added the leaves and the bird. Isn't that bird cute?! As you can see the bird has legs...well, he doesn't actually have legs in the set. I added the legs when I stamped him a little higher than I wanted. I actually am glad that I did, though. I really like how the little legs look.

Thanks again for stopping by to see some ideas.

Happy Stamping!!! Britni :)

Frakenstein

Hello! It is that time of year when the kids start planning their costumes for the spooky night. Well, don't forget to send a card to those spooky monsters. This card was inspired by my friend and fellow demonstrator, Georgia. We made this at our last meeting and I decided to make another one and make it into a card. I used Basic Black card stock and our Ghostly Greetings Designer Series Paper. For Frakenstein, I used my Top Note Die on the Big Shot using Kiwi Kiss and Lovely Lilac card stock. I used punches (1" and 1/2" Circles) for the eyes and nose. I then used a black journaler for the mouth and scar.

Thanks for visiting and as always Happy Stamping! Britni :)

Big Shot Banner

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. I am very excited to be starting a blog. I look at several blogs each day and I learn many new techniques and ideas from them. I hope to update my blog as much as possible, so keep coming back to check for updates!

My first sample is my Stampin' Up banner that I made for my Stampin' Up birthday party. Yes, it is Stampin' Up's 20th birthday!!!
For this banner I used Rainbow Sherbet Designer Series Paper to cut out the pennants using the Big Shot and the Pennant Bigz XL Die. I then used Only Orange card stock to cut out the Scallop Circle. Then I cut out those beautiful letters using the Serif Essentials dies. I also have to give my mom and Julia credit because they both helped me cut paper and assemble this wonderful banner. Thanks girls!

In this same image you can also see my Decor Element on the wall. These are beautiful vinyl wall art that are very easy to put. It will not hurt your paint, but they can be removed at any time.

This is a close up of the banner.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Until next time...Happy Stamping!
